Charlotte Murphy, Esq.
A native of the Boston area, Attorney Murphy is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Boston College, earning her JD from Boston College Law School in 1984. After practicing law at a major Boston firm for several years, she founded the general practice of Tsongas & Murphy in Lowell, MA. Since 2005, she has limited her practice to divorce and family law. She has successfully tried divorce cases in Essex and Middlesex Counties and has litigated contempt matters and modification actions to timely resolution. Charlotte has long standing relationships with forensic accountants, business valuators and investigatory experts. She provides each client with a high degree of personal attention.
Admitted to practice in all courts of the Commonwealth, Attorney Murphy has also litigated in the Federal Courts. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Massachusetts Bar Association, as well as the Essex County Bar Association, the Salem Bar Association and Lawrence Bar Association.
Having completed the requisite family law mediation training pursuant to Rule 8 of the Uniform Rules of Dispute Resolution and conciliation training under the Massachusetts Office of Dispute Resolution, she is a member of the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation. Attorney Murphy serves as a conciliator to the Essex County Probate and Family Court. She also volunteers in the Attorneys Representing Children (ARC) program.Contact Attorney Murphy
